P resented at Metstrade Amsterdam (18–20 November), Videoworks has introduced a comprehensive suite of next-generation security technologies designed to counter rising risks in the superyacht sector — from hijacking and hacking to drone intrusion. For the first time, the company brings an entire ecosystem of physical and digital protection under one unified, yacht-ready platform, available for both new builds and refits.

A Complete Security Architecture

With geopolitical volatility heightening concerns for owners worldwide, Videoworks has expanded far beyond its established AV-IT expertise. The new system integrates advanced CCTV, AI-powered threat detection, LIDAR sensors, drone-tracking technology, hidden floor-embedded sensors and a fully engineered dedicated panic room — all connected through the yacht’s IT backbone for seamless operation.

Panic Room: The New Standard for Vessels Over 1,500GT

For yachts where space allows, Videoworks now offers a turnkey panic-room package that serves as a self-contained safe zone with:

  • visible & hidden CCTV feeds

  • secure comms and redundancy power

  • stand-alone energy unit operating even after a full ship shutdown

  • weapon storage, remote-control interfaces and deterrents

  • integrated IT & AV visibility for situational awareness

Beyond immediate safety, Videoworks notes that panic rooms can lower insurance premiums, increase charter desirability and enhance a yacht’s resale value.

Advanced Sensors & AI Threat Detection

Videoworks’ new architecture includes:

  • LIDAR with 85m range for precise perimeter mapping

  • AI-driven software distinguishing authorised vs unauthorised movement

  • virtual fences around access points and deck perimeters

  • floor sensors that detect footsteps and movement patterns

  • drone detection integrated into onboard security consoles

These layers combine into a real-time, adaptive surveillance ecosystem capable of filtering noise from wildlife or passers-by while alerting crew to genuine threats instantly.

Unified Technology, One Point of Control

Instead of assembling fragmented systems from multiple suppliers, owners and shipyards can now rely on Videoworks’ consolidated platform. Running on the yacht’s existing infrastructure, it offers easier installation, intuitive control and full retrofit potential.

CEO Maurizio Minossi emphasises the company’s philosophy:
“At Videoworks, we see technology not as an add-on, but as an integral part of yacht design and onboard life. Our mission is creating systems that are easy to use, keep guests comfortable and keep people on board connected and secure.”

He highlights the importance of collaboration with shipyards, exterior designers and interior teams to tailor every security zone, while also stressing the need for crew training as part of each installation.

Neurøise: The Next Step in AI Onboard

At Metstrade 2025, Videoworks and NoNoise advanced their partnership with the unveiling of Neurøise, a generative-AI platform launching in 2026. Designed as an adaptive storytelling and infotainment ecosystem, Neurøise blends AI, display technologies and immersive interaction — not as a single product, but as a multi-layered onboard platform capable of interpreting, narrating and co-creating emotional experiences with guests.

The collaboration positions both companies at the forefront of AI-driven onboard innovation, integrating next-level entertainment with the broader yacht systems that Videoworks already powers.
