A t the Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show, Wally unveiled the wallypower50X, marking the world premiere of an outboard evolution that redefines one of the brand’s most recognisable icons.

The 50X builds on the architectural language of the original wallypower50 while introducing Mercury outboard propulsion for the first time in this platform. The result is a more versatile, high-performance interpretation of the wallypower DNA – one that preserves its radical identity while enhancing speed, flexibility and usability.

An Archetype Reimagined

Few silhouettes in yachting are as instantly identifiable. The wallypower50X retains the family’s defining elements: the vertical bow, razor-sharp profile and expansive glazed surfaces that fuse aesthetics and function into a single architectural statement.

Signature “magic portholes” continue to channel natural light below deck without disrupting the yacht’s clean exterior lines, while a fully concealed anchoring system reinforces the minimalist philosophy even when moored. The glazed superstructure and wide-open deck create a refined balance between protection and openness, maintaining comfort during high-speed navigation without sacrificing visual purity.

Wally’s modular approach further enhances adaptability. The 50X can operate as a chase boat, superyacht tender, day cruiser or compact weekender. Each configuration maintains the brand’s unmistakable emphasis on form, proportion and spatial clarity.

Space Meets Performance

Fold-down transom sides increase usable deck area by more than five square meters, transforming the cockpit into a seamless sea-level terrace. Two generous sunpads and a dining area for eight sit beneath the protective glass structure, redefining onboard social spaces with an informal, contemporary edge. A lounge and kitchenette reinforce the relaxed yet purposeful layout.

Below deck, comfort remains uncompromised. A double berth, lounge area and bathroom with separate shower elevate the boat beyond the dayboat category, making it entirely suitable for extended weekends or mid-range cruising.

Performance is where the 50X makes its boldest statement. The standard twin Mercury Verado V10 425 hp configuration delivers a top speed of 50 knots and a cruising speed of 34 knots (preliminary figures). For those seeking heightened intensity, the optional Mercury Racing V8 500 hp setup – unveiled on hull number two in Miami – pushes top speed to 54 knots with a cruising speed of 36 knots (preliminary data).

The hull, developed through a collaboration between the Wally team and Ferretti Group Engineering, ensures stability, precision handling and composure at speed. Control remains intuitive even at the upper performance range, reinforcing Wally’s reputation for engineering sophistication paired with emotional design.

Evolution Without Compromise

With the wallypower50X, Wally expands its iconic language into the outboard segment without diluting its core identity. The Miami debut signals not just a new model, but a renewed statement: innovation and purity can coexist at 50-plus knots.

The wallypower family continues to evolve. The DNA remains untouchable.
