M ore than 100 enthusiasts have already pre-ordered the upcoming IANOS Amfivios, even before its official reveal, signalling strong confidence in the Greek watchmaker’s growing reputation.
Greek watch brand IANOS is preparing to introduce a new model, the Amfivios, a tool watch inspired by the operational DNA of the brand’s well-known OYK watch. Even before the watch has been officially presented to the public, the project has already attracted significant attention: more than 100 supporters have placed early pre-orders, despite the absence of official product photos, videos or marketing materials.
The response highlights the growing community around the independent Greek brand, which has gradually built a reputation among watch enthusiasts for its functional design philosophy and strong narrative connection to Greek maritime and military heritage.
Continuing the legacy of the OYK watch
The Amfivios follows the legacy of the OYK watch, a project that became an important milestone for IANOS. The model was the first Greek-designed watch created specifically for a military unit, combining practical functionality with symbolic meaning.
That dual identity – utility and symbolism – has become a defining element of the brand’s design philosophy. According to the company, the Amfivios will carry forward that same approach, remaining faithful to the operational character that defined its predecessor while adapting it for everyday wear.
A compact titanium diver
In technical terms, the Amfivios is expected to remain firmly within the category of professional tool watches. The planned specifications include a 41mm titanium case, 300 metres of water resistance, a domed sapphire crystal, a screw-down crown, and a unidirectional titanium bezel.
Power will come from a Swiss automatic movement, while the watch will also incorporate IANOS’s signature strap-channel architecture, designed to improve both comfort and security on the wrist.
The concept places the Amfivios in the tradition of robust diver watches designed not only for professional environments but also for everyday versatility.
Community-driven development
What makes the project particularly notable is the way it has developed. The early wave of pre-orders appears to have emerged organically from the brand’s existing community rather than through a formal launch campaign.
The first 100 numbered watches have already been allocated to early supporters, while production is expected to follow demand, with quantities remaining limited.
Looking ahead to the official launch
The official presentation of the IANOS Amfivios is expected in June or July, when the brand plans to reveal the watch publicly.
If the early response is any indication, the new model could become another important chapter in the story of independent Greek watchmaking, demonstrating how niche brands can build momentum through community trust, functional design and a clear narrative identity.
