A new chapter begins for the Greek Yachting Association, following the successful completion of its Annual General Assembly and the election of the new Board of Directors for the 2026–2029 term. The Assembly brought together members and stakeholders of the Greek yachting industry, reaffirming the Association’s central role in shaping the future of yachting and marine tourism in Greece.

The newly elected Board reflects continuity, experience and a clear strategic orientation toward growth and international competitiveness. Ioannis Kourounis was elected President, with Spiros Galanakis assuming the role of Vice President. Thanasis Skoulikidis takes on the position of General Secretary, while Julie Kourouvanis was appointed Treasurer. The Board is further strengthened by members Olga–Artemis Politi, Fotis Geranios and Vasiliki Nikolaidou, forming a team that combines institutional knowledge with fresh perspectives.

A particularly meaningful moment of the Assembly was the appointment of former President Michael Skoulikidis as Honorary President of the Association. The distinction recognises his 13 years of continuous leadership and contribution since the founding of the Greek Yachting Association, a period during which the organisation played a decisive role in reinforcing Greece’s position on the global yachting map.

Over the past decade, the Association has evolved into a key driver of Greek yachting, actively promoting sustainability, professionalism and international outreach. By fostering strategic collaborations and attracting leading international brokers, the GYA has contributed tangible economic and social value, supporting both coastal communities and the wider tourism ecosystem.

Looking ahead, preparations are already underway for the Association’s flagship event, the Mediterranean Yacht Show. Scheduled to take place in Nafplion from May 2–6, 2026, the 11th edition of the show is expected once again to confirm its position as the world’s largest exhibition dedicated exclusively to crewed charter yachts, reinforcing Greece’s role as a global hub for professional yachting.

With a renewed Board and a clear vision, the Greek Yachting Association enters the new term committed to strengthening the competitiveness, credibility and international standing of the Greek yachting industry.
