I n a landmark moment for Greek watchmaking, IANOS presents a timepiece exclusively created for Greece’s most elite naval unit — a project that pays tribute to precision, courage, and national pride.
A defining moment for Greek watchmaking unfolded during a special ceremony attended by the Prime Minister of Greece, senior leadership of the Hellenic Navy, and representatives of the Athanasios C. Laskaridis Charitable Foundation. The event marked the official presentation of the IANOS OYK — a custom-designed watch created exclusively for members of the Underwater Demolition Teams (OYK) of the DYK Command.
Commissioned by the Athanasios C. Laskaridis Charitable Foundation as an act of recognition for the OYK’s exceptional service, the project celebrates national excellence with a strictly limited edition of 300 watches. Reserved solely for active and future members of the unit, the timepiece is not available to the public, making it a rare emblem of commitment, unity, and prestige.
IANOS, the first and only Greek watch brand entrusted with such a mission, approached the design with both responsibility and bold ambition. Based on the IANOS Dytis platform, the OYK edition features a countdown bezel, repositioned date window at 12 o’clock, a graduated sub-dial, and a distinctive dark blue dial bearing the OYK insignia in a refined tone-on-tone execution. The caseback is engraved with the DYK emblem and each watch’s unique serial number — personalising every piece as a private legacy.
The IANOS OYK goes beyond function. It serves as a living tribute to the courage, discipline, and tradition of the OYK teams. Engineered for high-performance environments and ceremonial contexts alike, the watch bridges the practical and the symbolic with seamless elegance.
This collaboration underscores what Greek ingenuity and design can achieve at the highest levels of craftsmanship. A tribute to those who serve — and a timepiece destined to be remembered.
