t boot Düsseldorf 2026, Archipelago Yachts marks a defining moment in its evolution, introducing the All-Electric Archipelago 40, the first fully electric model in the British shipyard’s lineup.

Developed from the proven Archipelago 40 platform, the new all-electric version has been comprehensively re-engineered to accommodate a high-capacity battery system and an advanced electric drivetrain, without sacrificing the robust, expedition-ready character that has come to define the Archipelago brand. Rather than adapting an existing hull as a compromise solution, the project focuses on preserving capability, range confidence, and comfort while transitioning toward zero-emissions propulsion.

At the core of the All-Electric Archipelago 40 lies a fully integrated electric propulsion system supplied by ePropulsion, featuring twin 250kW low-speed electric motors. The direct-drive configuration eliminates traditional gearboxes, improving efficiency, reducing mechanical complexity, and significantly enhancing onboard comfort through lower noise and vibration levels. Energy is stored in approximately 600kWh of battery capacity, supporting both propulsion and full hotel loads.

To further increase operational independence, the vessel incorporates an extensive 8kW solar array, seamlessly integrated across the roof, side decks, and topsides. This solar installation extends range, minimizes reliance on shore power, and reinforces the yacht’s suitability for Mediterranean cruising, where quiet operation and energy efficiency offer tangible advantages.

With a top speed of around 22 knots and accommodation for up to six guests, the All-Electric Archipelago 40 balances performance with practicality. Importantly, the platform has been engineered with long-term adaptability in mind: its structure and systems are already prepared for the future integration of a methanol range extender, positioning the vessel as a genuinely future-proof solution as alternative fuels mature.

The debut of the All-Electric Archipelago 40 highlights Archipelago Yachts’ commitment to responsible innovation and long-term ownership value, demonstrating how electric propulsion can enhance, rather than limit, capability in the expedition yacht segment.

Archipelago Yachts are exhibiting at boot Düsseldorf 2026 at Stand 7AE02, where visitors can meet the team and explore the technical details behind the project.
