A collaboration of innovation and vision — Baglietto, Floating Life, and Volvo Penta join forces to create a 48-metre explorer built for range, efficiency, and style.
A new 48-metre full custom yacht is taking shape from the combined expertise of Baglietto, Floating Life, and Volvo Penta. Born from a shared vision for a vessel capable of cruising the world’s oceans with efficiency and personality, this new project — hull no. 10277 — represents a milestone in tailor-made yacht design.
Developed under the supervision of Baglietto, with exterior and interior design by Floating Life in collaboration with Satura Studio, the yacht combines cutting-edge naval engineering with an elegant, nature-connected aesthetic. Conceived to achieve ICE CLASS 1D certification, she is designed for long-range navigation in the most challenging environments.
Her structure allows a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces. Warm natural materials and 360° glazing define a panoramic main deck salon, while transparent staircases and fluid layouts invite light across all levels. The hull design reduces drag and increases range to over 5,000 nautical miles, cutting fuel consumption by up to 30%.
Among the yacht’s most innovative features is a 10-metre tender launching system, developed exclusively for this project. Inspired by classic Italian shipyard mechanisms of the 1940s–1960s and engineered with Besenzoni, it reinterprets history through a modern, retractable platform — allowing safe, direct launch and retrieval of the tender.
Propulsion will be entrusted to the Volvo Penta IPS Professional Platform, the most advanced marine propulsion system available today. Its dual-input architecture enables hybrid operation with exceptional efficiency, lower emissions, and reduced noise. The compact design also frees valuable interior space, further enhancing the onboard experience.
