Cantieri di Pisa is continuing to modernize and expand its Pisa headquarters.
The facilities along the Navicelli Canal will soon occupy an area exceeding 50,000 sqm, fulfilling the industrial plan of owner Enrico Gennasio and CEO Marco Massabò, which aims to return Cantieri di Pisa to the prestige of its past, in complete compliance and collaboration with the Pisa Port Authority.
The next step will be to expand the range to a fleet of ten models in steel, aluminum and carbon fiber, inspired by the shipyard’s historic yachts, remembered for their great innovation in design, materials and performance.
6 million euros have been invested over the past two years and more will follow to expand and renovate the Cantieri di Pisa headquarters. These works are part of a multi-year plan to relaunch the historic brand, promoted by the new ownership, which is represented by Enrico Gennasio, who took over the shipyard in 2021, and CEO Marco Massabò. The modernization project includes maintaining the offices in the main warehouse as the historic area, lengthening this structure and raising it to 20 meters of height. Another existing structure will be extended, again to a height of 20 meters, and a new shed will be built alongside it. These two buildings will then be connected by a covered structure 20 meters tall and 14 meters wide, dedicated to the passage of yachts.
In total, the production facilities and administrative spaces will come to occupy an area of 17,500 square meters, 900 of which will be dedicated to offices. The facilities will also include a 600-linear-meter equipped dock, a 300-ton travel lift, a 20-ton crane and a 300-ton boat trailer.
In addition to yacht design and construction, Cantieri di Pisa will also offer a refitting service with an 18,000-square-meter space set aside for this type of work.
The restructuring of one of the world’s most famous shipyards, founded in 1945, is a central part of the managerial reorganization plan presented by Gennasio and the new CEO Marco Massabò, a longtime manager with more than 20 years’ experience in the high-end boating industry. Management’s goal is to return the shipyard that created the celebrated Akhir series to its heyday with the design of ten models across four different categories that bring stylistic, technological and functional innovations. “We have been working hard for two years, fine-tuning what will be the new iconic lines of Cantieri di Pisa,” said Massabò.
The renovation of the Shipyard is thus an important first step in the plan drawn up by the new ownership to transform Cantieri di Pisa into one of the benchmark facilities in the production of carbon fiber, steel and aluminum yachts. Management’s innovative philosophy targets weight control and performance with the goal of contributing to changing the vision of boating through continuous Research and Development.cantieridipisa.com
