T he year has barely begun and Zeelander has already marked it with two significant deliveries. In January, the Dutch yard confirmed the sale of two Zeelander 5 yachts, with the 14.7m (48ft) models heading to Monaco and Istanbul – two of Europe’s most visible and lifestyle-driven yachting hubs.

The twin sales reaffirm steady demand for Zeelander’s distinctive formula: sculptural retro-inspired design, refined Dutch engineering, and a level of finish more commonly associated with full-size superyachts. Particularly in Turkey, the new build bound for Istanbul signals a notable return to a market that has historically shown strong appreciation for the brand’s understated luxury.
A Superyacht in Miniature
Often described as a “superyacht in miniature,” the Zeelander 5 occupies a space few manage to define convincingly: between premium dayboat and compact superyacht. The build quality alone speaks volumes. From its meticulous nine-layer metallic paint process to rigorous sound insulation and precisely finished joinery, the yacht delivers a depth of craftsmanship rarely seen in the 48ft segment.
Even at speed, the onboard ambiance remains whisper-quiet – a defining trait of the brand. The ride is composed, dry and remarkably smooth, while the extended beach platform creates a waterside experience more typically reserved for significantly larger vessels.

Performance Meets Refinement
Owners can opt for twin or triple Volvo Penta IPS 650 drives, ensuring intuitive joystick manoeuvrability and top speeds reaching 40 knots. The hull form has been engineered not only for performance but for cruising confidence, delivering comfort that belies its dynamic capabilities.
A cruising range of approximately 450 nautical miles establishes a benchmark at this size and speed bracket. Combined with generous tank capacity, the Zeelander 5 offers genuine coastal passage capability and extended island cruising in privacy and autonomy.
Living Beyond the Dayboat Label
Although positioned as a dayboat, the interior elevates expectations. The deck saloon offers uninterrupted 360-degree views thanks to the elimination of traditional window mullions, creating a seamless visual connection with the sea. Deep sofas and a dining area for four transform the space into a refined social hub.
Below deck, gently curved stairs lead to two well-appointed cabins. The owner’s suite features an athwartships bed positioned to maximise natural light, abundant cabinetry and a dedicated dressing area. Forward, a guest cabin with twin berths shares access to a thoughtfully designed bathroom with separate shower.
Strong Momentum into 2026
The January sales reinforce Zeelander’s position in a unique niche where identity, detailing and engineering sophistication outweigh raw dimensions. The early momentum sets a confident tone for the year ahead, which will soon see the launch of the second 24m (79ft) Zeelander 8 flagship in the coming weeks.
If the opening chapter of 2026 is any indication, Zeelander continues to refine its own category – elegant, quiet, performance-driven yachts built for owners who value discretion as much as distinction.
