N ow entering a richer new phase, the co-branded collection expands its vocabulary while staying faithful to the qualities that made it instantly compelling in the first place: polish without stiffness, craftsmanship without nostalgia, and a vision of outdoor living shaped by the enduring glamour of Riva yachts. With the creative direction of Massimo Castagna, this latest evolution feels less like an extension and more like a deepening of mood, one that carries the atmosphere of the water into spaces on land.

The appeal has never been about simply borrowing nautical cues. It is about translating a certain Italian sensibility, one tied to La Dolce Vita, lacquered wood, reflected light and the quiet pleasure of beautifully considered leisure. That sensibility runs through the entire collection, from the material palette to the proportions of each piece.

Materials with memory

Sapelli mahogany and stainless steel do much of the storytelling here. They are not decorative references added after the fact, but the core language of the collection, directly tied to Riva’s visual identity. The mahogany, handcrafted by Exteta, carries warmth, depth and a sense of tradition, while the steel introduces a cooler, more architectural line. Together, they create a tension that feels distinctly contemporary.

This year’s additions expand that language with confidence. The new Sofa Angular introduces a more sculptural rhythm to the upholstered pieces, compact in silhouette but generous in presence. The accompanying pouf adds flexibility without losing composure, moving easily between informal comfort and polished restraint.

The Foldable Chair may be one of the collection’s most immediate gestures. With its nod to classic nautical seating, it has the kind of clarity that often defines future icons: simple, functional, unmistakably refined. Nearby, the new Swivel Stool leans into the easy sophistication of open-air living, drawing on the codes of classic yachts without becoming costume-like.

A lifestyle, not just a line

Elsewhere, the tables and coffee tables bring another dimension to the collection. The Round Coffee Table, crafted entirely from solid mahogany, feels intimate and precise, almost jewel-like in scale. Bitta, by contrast, turns to polished steel and pure form, taking its inspiration from the shape of a bollard and pushing it toward sculpture. One is warm and tactile, the other reflective and graphic. Both speak fluently in the same language.

Then comes the most explicit tribute of all: the new Riva Deck finish. Applied to selected tables and coffee tables, it introduces the maple striping associated with classic boat decks, folding one of Riva’s most recognisable details into the world of furniture with remarkable ease.

Presented in preview at Exteta’s Milan flagship, with a Riva Iseo Super completing the scene, the collection makes its intention clear. This is not outdoor furniture trying to look nautical. It is a design project that understands why certain marine aesthetics endure in the first place: because they are tied to pleasure, to precision, and to a way of living that never really goes out of style.
