S outhern Wind has delivered the new SW108 Kalantis in Cape Town, marking the third hull in the successful semi-custom SW108 series. Designed inside and out by Nauta, the yacht continues a long-standing collaboration that refines a design language built on performance, comfort and understated elegance.
Rather than relying on bold gestures, Kalantis is defined by clarity and control. Clean lines, well-resolved proportions and a strong focus on usability shape a yacht that balances high-performance sailing with long-range cruising comfort, reflecting the lifestyle of her young and dynamic owners.

A transformative connection to the sea
The defining feature of Kalantis is the Seaside Lounge, a reimagined aft-deck space that establishes a direct and fluid connection with the water.
Through a system developed jointly by Southern Wind and Nauta, the transom opens to create a large platform at sea level. More than a beach club, this area evolves throughout the day, functioning as a sun-drenched relaxation zone, a quiet retreat, or an intimate social setting in the evening.
It is not simply a design feature, but a shift in how space onboard is experienced, flexible, open and closely tied to the rhythm of the sea.
Refined interiors, balanced contrasts
The exterior profile remains sleek and low, combining a flush deck with refined geometry that enhances both aesthetics and sailing efficiency. Skylights and carefully positioned windows introduce natural light below deck, strengthening the continuity between interior and exterior spaces.
Inside, the design is built on contrast. Light surfaces and soft materials are paired with darker woods, primarily walnut, creating a warm yet contemporary atmosphere. Subtle detailing, from integrated elements to premium materials such as Loro Piana upholstery, reinforces a sense of quiet sophistication.
The layout includes four cabins, with a forward owner’s suite and an open-plan saloon that combines living and dining areas, extending into a TV lounge and maximising both space and views.
Kalantis is not driven by a single statement element. It is a cohesive project where every decision supports the onboard experience, a yacht that feels considered, balanced and complete.
