A zimut has added another milestone to its innovation portfolio. During the Miami International Boat Show, the Seadeck 7 was awarded the 2026 Miami Innovation Award in the Cabin Cruisers, Motor Yachts, Trawlers category.

Presented by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) and Boating Writers International (BWI), the award recognises shipyards that introduce genuinely forward-thinking solutions to the marine market. A panel of seven specialised BWI journalists evaluated and tested nominated products throughout the year before selecting the winner.

The jury described the Seadeck 7 as “a tour-de-force of innovative new features and refined design in a 70-footer,” highlighting its focus on sustainable propulsion and materials. Central to this recognition is Volvo Penta’s hybrid-electric IPS propulsion system, enabling fully electric navigation for short distances and zero-emission hotel mode at anchor.

Design also played a pivotal role. The Seadeck 7 introduces Azimut’s new approach to onboard living, bringing guests closer to the surrounding environment. The Fun Island concept — a reinterpreted cockpit designed by Alberto Mancini — physically and visually embraces the sea, extending the yacht’s social and leisure areas toward the water.

Interiors, developed in collaboration with Matteo Thun & Antonio Rodriguez, reflect what Azimut calls a “conscious design” philosophy — combining refined aesthetics with responsible material choices and spatial fluidity.

Together, hybrid propulsion, open architecture and environmentally sensitive design position the Seadeck 7 as a defining model in what Azimut describes as the “gentle era” of yachting — where innovation meets reduced impact without compromising scale or experience.
