O mikron Yachts is stepping onto the international stage at the Palma International Boat Show 2026, marking its first appearance at the Mediterranean event with an updated version of its already well-received OT-60.
Set against the backdrop of Moll Vell Marina from April 29 to May 2, the Greek shipyard is using Palma not just as a showcase, but as a statement of intent, introducing a refined iteration of a model that has quickly positioned itself as a serious contender in the long-range cruiser segment.
A familiar platform, pushed further
The OT-60 remains rooted in the same philosophy that defined its success: efficiency, range, and a quieter, more considered way of cruising. What changes here is not the identity of the yacht, but the way it can be experienced.
The latest hull introduces a new propulsion option with twin Yanmar 370 hp engines, pushing top speed into the 19–20 knot range while preserving the low-consumption, long-distance character of the platform. More importantly, the upgrade allows for more relaxed engine operation at cruising speeds, translating into a noticeably smoother and quieter onboard environment.
This is not a one-off tweak, but part of a broader, ongoing refinement process. Omikron’s in-house engineering approach and flexible construction model allow the yard to continuously evolve the OT-60, tailoring performance and technical solutions to different owner profiles.
Efficiency as a design language
At the core of the OT-60 is its Eco-Cruise hull, developed with naval architect Juan Kouyoumdjian, designed to minimise drag at real cruising speeds rather than theoretical maximums. Combined with lightweight construction techniques, including vacuum-infused composites and a carbon-fiber superstructure, the yacht achieves a displacement of around 20 tons, significantly lighter than most in its class.
The result is not just improved efficiency, but a different kind of cruising experience: quieter, longer in range, and more aligned with the growing demand for sustainability without sacrificing performance.
Design by Lorenzo Argento completes the picture, bringing a clean, contemporary aesthetic that supports the yacht’s technical identity without overpowering it.
A strategic Mediterranean move
Omikron’s debut in Palma, in collaboration with its Spanish representative Flensburger Yacht Services, signals a clear step towards strengthening its footprint in the Mediterranean market.
Rather than introducing a new model, the yard is choosing to evolve an existing one, a move that reflects confidence in the OT-60 platform and its appeal to owners looking for a more refined, efficient and forward-thinking approach to cruising.
