T he 62-metre sailing superyacht SIMENA is en route to Palma de Mallorca, where she will make her world debut at the Palma International Boat Show 2026 (April 29 – May 2). Marking her first public appearance, she is set to be the largest yacht on display at this year’s show.

For ARES Yachts, SIMENA represents a decisive step into the 60m-plus segment, positioning the Antalya-based shipyard among the few builders currently operating at this scale in sailing superyachts.

A modern ketch with bluewater ambition

Designed by Taka Yacht Design, SIMENA revisits the classic ketch silhouette through a contemporary lens, balancing traditional proportions with a clear focus on performance. Her steel-carbon construction, built to RINA Charter Class C standards, underlines her long-range capability, while interiors by Design Unlimited introduce a more refined, quietly luxurious onboard environment.

The yacht’s hybrid propulsion system defines much of her character. In electric mode, she allows near-silent cruising at up to 8 knots, with a range reaching 6,000 nautical miles at 7 knots. Under diesel power, she delivers a top speed of 14 knots and a range of 4,000 nautical miles, while under sail she has already reached 14 knots during sea trials, with higher performance expected in optimal wind conditions.

Traditional teak decks and varnished mahogany detailing reference classic sailing heritage, but the overall execution remains contemporary, with comfort and functionality integrated without excess. Accommodation is arranged for up to 12 guests, with a forward owner’s suite occupying a prime position on the main deck.

Performance, efficiency and positioning

Beyond her design, SIMENA positions itself as a forward-looking project in terms of efficiency. Her 4-star SEA Index certification places her among the more environmentally conscious yachts in her category, confirming the impact of her hybrid system on reducing emissions without compromising range or performance.

Recognition extends further, with two nominations at the Explorer Awards by La Belle Classe Superyachts, reinforcing her relevance within a segment that increasingly values both exploration capability and environmental responsibility.

Ranked among the 25 largest sailing superyachts globally, SIMENA enters the market at a moment where demand for long-range, hybrid-capable sailing yachts is steadily growing. She will be available for private viewings in Palma ahead of and during the show, offering a first close look at one of the most anticipated sailing projects of the season.
